This is a selection of who I think the top rated guitarists ever. It includes your usual Guitar hero legends and maybe some that you haven't heard of. The list is in no particular order these are just some of the guitarists I am inspired by !

Jimi Hendrix
an obvious choice however his playing at the time was light years ahead of most of the guitarists that time. I have some serious respect for this legend, an inspiration for alot of the greatest players ever.


Eric Clapton
Clapton can play great guitar and write a great song, He never uses the same licks the guy is a blues genius and he an amazing singer!



Jeff Healy
Seriously underatted and alot of people never heard of him but sadly Jeff Healy passed away recently due to his on going battle with a rare cancer in his eyes. Because he was blind from just 8 months old Jeff deveoped a unique style of guitar playing that just blows me away in awe. Much respect to Jeff and RIP you will be missed.



Gary Moore
I love guitarists that play with emotion and feeling and Gary Moore can play make the guitar cry. Always known for that thick fat Les paul sound.



David Gilmour
I can safetly say that David Gimlour changed my guitar playing, when I first heard Pink Floyd's Comfortably Numb I just thought this is the most incredible solo i've ever heard. In fact everytime I hear it, I still think its incredible it makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. The amount of feeling and emotion you hear from his playing is amazing... David Gilmour you are my number 1 guitar hero and inspiration.



Zakk Wylde
Zakk is just a beast on the guitar, a unique brutal style makes him a top choice for me and boy can this dude shred...



Paul Gilbert
Paul Gilbert is a masterclass of guitar playing, he style is just pure speed and has a seriously advanced technical ability on the guitar.. you'll understand when you see the video.



Eddie Van Halen
No brainer really a pioneer of the 2 handed tapping technique now used by many guitarists including myself.



Joe Satriani
One of the original great guitar players with a success in creating a instrumnetal guitar albums. They guy can write a great song and has taught many of the all time guitar greats such as Kirk Hammet (Metallica) and Steve Vai.


Eric Johnson
Great tone, great player, very jazzy but very technical. I once tried to play this song... I failed miserably
